Medical Radiography - Associate of Applied Science Degree
The Medical Radiography program offers potential candidates the opportunity to complete an Associates of Applied Science degree in Medical Radiography. This program serves as a means to address the current and future shortage of Radiologic Technologists, R.T. (R) in Virginia and nationally to meet society's need for increased numbers of highly skilled and knowledgeable Radiographer professionals.

Medical Radiography program objectives:
  • Prepare graduates for entry-level practice work in an ethical, legal, safe, and effective environment.
  • Provide a learning environment that recognizes individual differences and promotes caring behavior in the health care community.
  • Promote critical thinking skills to effectively address patient care problems and to adapt to the rapidly changing challenges in healthcare.
  • Provide graduates with strong educational foundations for lifelong personal and professional growth.
  • Prepare graduates to take the national and state licensure examination.

In 18 months a student can earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Medical Radiography. The program is accredited by the JRCERT (Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology). Graduates qualify to sit for the national exam of the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).

MCI is the School of Health Science at ECPI College of Technology and is accredited by the Accreditiing Bureau of Health Education Schools.
